25 years ago today I was cruising Camp Bowie with Adam Pacheco and we stopped in the old Strippling and Cox parking lot to meet a couple of friends of his girl friend. That was when I met Danae LeMond. A determined Texas strawberry-blond with a mind of her own as it was clear from day one.
We went to a dance club for teenagers and she ignored me. Several days later, I got a call, and by the time the last week of June came around we went on a date. She did not like me, but thanks to some help from a a friend, she went on another date with me, and I guess that time I did something right.
On June 26, 1993 she married me. Not sure why, but glad she did.
She remains a driven, independent, hard working woman. She has put everything in to teaching our children and is responsible for developing their own incredible driven personalities.
She always pushes me to be better, forgives my countless flaws, and endures my radical pace.
I have watched her overcome more than most humans ever have thrown at them, with grace and confidence. I admire her endless positive outlook and continuous faith. Danae is an incredible partner in life and friend.
Thanks for 19 great years of marriage Nae, and 25 years of awesome living! Happy Anniversary!
