This week I am posting about the most influential women in my life.
Linda Owens is my mom. While she gave birth to me, she also helped me discover Truth, so that I might be "born again".
My mom lead me to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. She followed a pattern that we all can learn from in sharing our faith. She did not instantly tell me to make a decision about faith. First, she loved me. Second, she spent time telling me about how and why God made the universe, how he showed who he was through the events in history, and the evidence of science. She walked me through the scriptures. Third, she lead a life that reflected what she was sharing was true.
Lastly, she offered the opportunity to act on what I had learned. And it is because of my mom that I came to faith. This was the greatest gift in my life and she lead me to it. Faith in Christ is the pivot for everything and so it is without question I can say she is the most influential person in my life.
Mom stayed at home and invested her life in my brother and I. After we were teens she went back into the workforce and has enjoyed and is still active in a long career.
My mom is a leader in the Company of the Committed and I am grateful for her and her example.
